Yaritza Portalatín-Méndez (Taxation, Corporate & Commercial Law, Trusts & Estates)

Yaritza Portalatín-Méndez has been advising individuals and businesses on complex income and estate tax matters for more than a decade. Her knowledge in United States taxation and the interplay of United States tax laws with Puerto Rico tax laws allows her to deliver sound and effective tax advise, providing her clients opportunities for growth and wealth preservation. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and is a Certified Public Accountant who was recognized for passing the entire Uniform CPA Examination on her first attempt.

In 2005, Mrs. Portalatín-Méndez joined Pellot González as an associate attorney and became junior partner in 2011. Mrs. Portalatín’s main areas of practice include local and federal tax aspects of individuals and corporations, tax incentives laws, nonprofit tax exemptions and general income, property, excise, municipal license taxes, as well as income and estate tax planning. She also has experience in corporate law, including corporate mergers and acquisitions. As a member of the firm she represents clients in negotiations before governmental agencies.
